Polycrystalline Bi1-xHoxFe1-yZryO3 series has been synthesized by sol-gel method. The effect of Ho, Zr co-substitution on structure and magnetic properties were investigated. The results of the XRD patterns suggest that all the samples have a rhombohedral structure (space group R3c). The lattice parameters increase as the Ho, Zr concentration increases. Raman spectroscopy show vibration modes for all the samples associated with R3c phase accompanying a shift in the modes due to co-substitution of Ho and Zr. As Ho, Zr doping level increases, the weak ferromagnetism becomes more obvious with the effect that the saturation magnetization and coercivity gradually increases and attain maxima at x = y = 0.2. © 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc..
