Abstract
Thermoreversible and pH-sensitive fluorescent nanoaggregates made by phenanthroline-based amphiphilic probe are involved in fluorometric sensing of urea. Urea-mediated intermolecular hydrogen bonding interaction dissociates the preformed p-stacked self-assembled structure and results in smaller nanoaggregates with charge-transfer characteristics. The present system is employed for the estimation of urea in diluted human serum, moisturizer cream, soil and fodder samples. Moreover, the present system can also be used in the estimation of Blood Urea Nitrogen. © 2018 Elsevier Ltd.
