Abstract
The catechol (CC) and hydroquinone (HQ) are the dihydroxybenzene isomers and its electrochemical performance was examined at poly (vanillin) modified carbon paste electrode (MCPE) in 0.2 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) of pH 7.4 by using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The pH, scan rate, and concentration parameters were examined electrochemically at prepared electrode. By the variation of scan rate, the electrode process was found to be adsorption-controlled and depicts satisfactory limit of detection (LOD) for both CC and HQ was found to be 0.95 and 0.99 µM respectively. Moreover, the proposed electrode shows fine sensitivity and determine simultaneously in binary mixture of CC and HQ. The real sample analysis of CC and HQ were successfully conducted in tap water. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.
