Abstract
This paper presents output feedback control of Induction Machine (IM) drive for rotor field oriented (vector) control scheme. Impact of core loss resistance is also considered while designing controllers in the proposed method. Recursive algorithms are reported in the literature to obtain the optimal values of controller gains by minimising cost function in output feedback control. However, these algorithms require an initial guess on controller gains and they do not guarantee global minimum. In this paper, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to obtain the optimal values of controller gains. The proposed method does not require any initial guess on the values of controller gains. Also, the cost function in the proposed method is modified such that all the closed loop poles lie within the unit circle, thereby making the closed loop system stable. The proposed method is validated through simulation as well as experimental results.
