Abstract

This study conducts a performance assessment of thirty-three 9-year-old monocrystalline panels using I-V curve measurements, simultaneously inspecting various degradations in the panel using thermal imager. The intent of the study was to observe degradation in panels and its performance. Instantaneous efficiency of panels ranged from 7.5 to 10 and a weak consistency in reduction between the power output of all the panels measured in year 2018 and 2019 was seen. The thermal imagery revealed heated cells in panels in the presence of dust and soiling. The study suggests that there is no observable unique change in performance observed due to heated cells. © 2019 IEEE.
