Abstract

There is great interest in lead-free and allinorganic materials as an alternative to methylamine lead halides for solar cells. We here present a method to form thin-films of Cs2TiBr6, a promising absorber. Thin-films of CsBr are first deposited by thermal evaporation and then converted to Cs2TiBr6 by exposing it to TiBr4 vapors during annealing in a custom made glass reactor. Morphology, conversion and composition of Cs2TiBr6 thin-films were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDS) respectively. © 2019 IEEE.
