Abstract
In this paper, the design of composite adaptive control using output feedback is introduced for a general class of Multi-Input-Multi-output systems, with matched uncertainties. Controller structure is similar to that used in the Simple Adaptive Control method but controller parameters are updated based on the tracking error as well as the prediction error. A modified version of simple adaptive control after incorporation of error feedback term in reference model dynamics is considered for generating tracking error. The prediction error is generated by considering a state predictor dynamics where parameters are updated using plant output. It is shown that plant parameter can be estimated aggressively without affecting the control loop and this can improve plant transient performance. The proposed technique is applied and validated for controlling lateral dynamics of a micro air vehicle
