Abstract
Studies were conducted in a controlled and filtered biodiesel exhaust by injecting different concentrations of ozone to observe the reduction in oxides of nitrogen. The ozone was generated in a dielectric discharge barrier (DBD) plasma. Diesel engine was fed with 100% biofuel obtained from a native Indian plant, pongamia pinnata. In addition to the experimental studies, the effect of ozone on NO2 production and NOx removal was estimated using the dimensional analysis approach. It was observed that the estimated results were closely agreeing with the experimental ones.
