Abstract
3D image reconstruction for Radio-Frequency (RF) based breast cancer detection entails the solution of the inverse problem in Electromagnetics. This presents a non-linear ill-posed problem to estimate the unknown dielectric properties of close to a million voxels for practical applications, which is computationally challenging. In this work, a multilevel approach is presented in conjunction with an optimization core to drastically reduce the run-time for reconstruction. Further, in many cases, where the traditional optimization based approach stagnate, the proposed multilevel scheme achieves convergence.
