Abstract

We consider an average delay minimization problem for a power limited transmitter which collects and compresses correlated bits from multiple sources for transmission to a sink over a fading wireless channel. We propose a compression and transmission policy that trades off the average total power in compression and transmission with the average delay of bits. We present analytical bounds and simulation results showing that the tradeoff performance of our policy is better than for a previously known policy in a power limited regime.
