Abstract

Fiber-optic techniques are very useful for Radar Applications. In this presentation a review of various opto-microwave techniques for radar applications will be given. Later we consider the analysis of Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) networks for distribution of signals in a phased array Radar system. This also includes additional signal conditioning circuitry (electrical) for power equalization This work brings out different optical techniques to equalize this power levels. The techniques are classified as source or detector side equalization methods. The work is supported with modeling and experimental results highlighting their relative advantages and perceived limitations.
