Abstract

In this paper we present the design of a fault management scheme for an MPLS network. In this proposed We use a backup path restoration scheme and a dynamic restoration scheme which pre-assigns an alternative path for the active transit path and also assigns a dynamic alternate path for a link failure to avoid loss. This proposed method achieves very high throughput as compared to existing methods. It is also suitable for high speed networks.
