Abstract
The induced voltages due to a nearby lightning on an overhead conductor at different heights from the ground have been computed. The influence of finite ground conductivity on the induced voltages are analysed. It is observed that the finite ground conductivity influences the induced voltage on the conductors at lower heights(< 20 m) significantly. The influence of finite ground conductivity on the induced voltage for conductors at very large height(> 100 m) is found to be insignificant.
