Abstract
In this paper, the extended boundary condition method is used to calculate the differential phase shift upon scattering, 6, from dry and melting hail. The scaterers are modelled as oblate spheroids. Actual radar measurements are shown wherein the effect of differential phase shift upon scattering is seen. The use of 6 for inferring hail size is discussed.
