Abstract

A planar, circular, rearrangeable nonblocking optical switching architecture using $N(N-1) Ti:LiNbO_3$ directional coupler switches is suggested. Various figures of merit such as the signal-to-crosstalk ratio (SXR), insertion loss and fault tolerance are presented. The outline for a distributed routing algorithm in O(N) time is given.
