Abstract
A biomimetic total synthesis of bioactive tetracyclic natural product allomicrophyllone has been achieved in which a protective Diels-Alder reaction employing a disposable sacrificial 1,3-diene directs the regioselectivity of the subsequent Dials-Alder reaction.
