Abstract

Sensor nodes being deployed randomly, one typically models its location by a point process in an appropriate space. The sensing region of each sensor is described by a sequence of i.i.d random sets. Hence sensor network coverage is generally analyzed by an equivalent coverage process. Properties of both area coverage and path coverage are well known in the literature for homogeneous sensor deployments. We study two models where the sensor nodes are deployed according to a stationary Cox point process and a non homogeneous Poisson point process respectively. We derive asymptotic properties of vacancy in both the models.
