Fully substituted polyaniline derivatives are synthesized by chemical copolymerization of o-toluidine with o-chloroaniline by three different methods to note the effect of synthesis conditions. The structures of the copolymers have been determined by IR, Raman, NMR and their conductivity data. The copolymer compositions have been determined by proton NMR spectroscopy. The copolymers are completely soluble in DMSO and their conductivity is generally higher than that of the homopolymers, poly(o-toluidine) and poly (o-chloroaniline).
