Abstract
Nonequilibrium processing plays a key role in developing newer materials. In the last three decades it has contributed enormously in developing a range of new materials including metallic glass, quasicrystals and nanostructured materials with novel properties. This article traces the developments from perspective of an insider who have participated in some of these developments.
