Abstract

In the title structure, $C_{16}H_{10}N_2O_3S$, there are two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In one molecule, the dihedral angle between the indole ring system and the phenyl ring is $68.3 (2)^o$, and in the other it is $80.3 (2)^o$. $C-H^{...}O$, $C-H^{...}N$ and $C-H^{...}\pi$ interactions are observed in the crystal structure.
