Abstract
The thermal decomposition of 3,5-dihydroxybenzoyl azide, to generate in situ the corresponding $AB_2$-type dihydroxy isocyanate monomer, was found to give hyperbranched polyurethanes, whose structures were established using IR and NMR spectroscopy.
