Abstract

Et bicyclonidorellaurinate (I), a sesquiterpenic indan related to the naturally occurring nidorellaurinate (II), was obtained from 6-isopropylindan-1-one (III) by Reformatsky reaction, followed by hydrogenation. The parent bicyclonidorellane (IV) was obtained from III via a Grignard reaction and $Li-NH_3$ reduction.
