Abstract

We investigate the excitation wavelength and &vent viscosity dependence of the rate of formation and distribution of ground&ate isomers in a Landau-Zener (LZ) electronic transition from the excited state. We fmd that both the rate and the distribution depend strongly on the excitation wavelength. A viscosity-mediated crossover from a dynamic LZ tiansi- tion to one governed by an exponential gap law is predicted.
