Abstract

A bath-type cryostat incorporating the 3 terminal capacitance technique was designed and fabricated for the measurement of thermal expansion of materials at 80-350 K. With a slight modification in the arrangement of capacitor plates, the cryostat can also be used conveniently to explore the dielectric properties of materials. The constructional details and performance characteristics of the cryostat are discussed.
