Abstract
A simple approach to study the transversal time for tunneling is given. By using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin wave function to evaluate the velocity field of particles in the barrier region, an expression for the transversal time $\tau = .intg.dx[m/2(V(x)-E)]_1/2$ is obtained in conformity with recent results.
