The unsteady laminar compressible nonsimilar boundary layer flow over a thin longitudinal cylinder has been studied where the unsteadiness is due to the free stream velocity, wall temperature and mass transfer, and nonsimilarity is due to the transverse curvature and mass transfer. The partial differential equations with three independent variables governing the flow have been solved numerically using a finite-difference schemes. The free stream velocity distribution strongly affects the skin friction and heat transfer. Both skin friction and heat transfer parameters are found to increase as the transverse curvature or suction or index in the power-law variation of viscosity increases, but the effect of injection is just opposite. The skin friction parameter increases with the wall temperature, but the heat transfer parameter decreases.
