Abstract
A microscopic theory of the effects of dipolar solvents dynamics on the dielectric friction of a rotating dipolar solute is presented. We predict that translational diffusion of solvent molecules can significantly reduce the value of the zero-frequency dielectric friction. We find that the orientational correlation function of the solute is non-exponential in general, but can be profoundly influenced by the translational diffusion.
