Abstract

The effects of chronic suppression of serum prolactin levels in immature male hamsters were studied by injecting 15 $\mu$g of ergobromocryptine (EBC) daily for 20 days. Decreases in serum testosterone, in response to injected human chorionic gonadotropin as judged by an increase in serum testosterone, and in binding of 125I-labeled human chorionic gonadotropin in EBC-treated animals were noticed. However, there was no statistically significant decrease in testicular wt., and serum prolactin was decreased by only 31% compared with the controls
