Proposes a modified predicate completion scheme called the partial predicate completion scheme. It is more general than the delimited predicate completion scheme. The authors also present a scheme for generalization that views the necessary properties as also sufficient. As a consequence, the extensions corresponding to the sufficient predicates are maximized. The authors also introduce the notion of maximal models that forms the basis for the generalization process.
