Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of a graphical simulation environment for robotics-related applications. It is of a general nature and it can model a variety of robots and other open kinematic chains. The environment is organised as a graphical modelling system with a programming language interfaced to it. In addition to these, three other modules are also integrated into the system to make it more user-friendly. The environment has been implemented on an HP 501 workstation using Starbase graphics package under the UNIX operating system.
