Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of human perception of illusory contours. After a critical study of some human visual models, we propose an improved model (with a hierarchical structure and multiscale filtering at the first level of vision) in which interscale interactions lead to contour end-inhibition, and then local interactions culminate in contour filling. In view of space limitations, only the final results are presented for some synthetic images
