Abstract

Volume data is a set of scalar or vector values defined on a rectilinear grid in 3D space. Volume rendering describes the viewing of volume data as a translucent material. A new incremental algorithm for rotation of volume rendering suitable for parallel implementation is outlined. This algorithm has been implemented on a Shared Memory SGI IRIS 4D/360 with 6 processors and the results are discussed
