Abstract
The agent-based software technique is an emerging technology to design and implement software systems with autonomous behaviour and optionally integrate an artificial intelligence, knowledge-based system, in a seamless manner for specialised activities under distributed computing environments. We address the issues of incorporating the valued-added services within the B2C model and propose a solution based on the software agents. We present our system, which has been designed for effectively collaborating a B2C E-business model with other related service systems like general customer services, customer retention systems, etc., under the framework of customer relationship management (CRM) using software agents. The system has been designed to operate on the WWW and has been implemented using JAVA related technologies for effective deployment over the Internet
