Abstract

Different modes of microstrip antennas of circular geometries are analyzed for shaping the antenna pattern for handsets. The dipole pattern is simulated using the dominant mode with a proper dielectric constant. A back-to back microstrip antenna with a radiation pattern suitable for handsets which takes care of minimizing the radiation towards the users' head is proposed. A wedge-type antenna is also investigated as an extension
