Abstract

Synthesis and characterisation of beta-pyrrole substituted porphyrin-quinone system is presented. Optical and electrochemical studies showed the energy of charge transfer(CT) state is dependent on the position of quinone substituent (beta-pyrrole or meso carbon) in the porphyrin ring.
