Abstract

A comparison of the vapor-phase oxidation kinetics of PhCHMeOH (to give PhCOMe) over ferric molybdate, examined in an isothermal differential fixed-bed reactor at $240-300^0$, with the data expected from 24 different models (including redox, Langmuir-Hinshelwood, and Rideal mechanisms) showed that the reaction followed a redox mechanism.
