Abstract

Growth of a thin liquid film as a result of mass transfer from limited fluid pockets has been modelled. Approximate analytical solutions of the moving boundary problem (i.e., the film thickness and the concentration profile) have been obtained by employing Goodman's integral method. Under a typical set of physicochemical conditions, the film growth with time is found to be nearly linear.
