Abstract

A composite of polyaniline-carboxymethylcellulose has been prepared and it has been found by electronic spectroscopy that polyaniline in the composite exists in the conducting state even when the material is equilibrated with neutral aqueous medium. The phenomenon is attributed to the Donnan effect.
