Abstract

simple welded frame structure for parabolic trough concentrators suitable for developing countries is described. Static load tests were conducted on this structure to study its deflection characteristics under various load conditions. The results show that the slope error of the reflector support, corresponding to normal wind loads were found to be within the specified limits, and the structure withstood the load corresponding to extreme wind load conditions.
