Abstract

This paper presents the results of our interface demarcation experiments during vertical Bridgman growth of gallium antimonide. By rapid quenching during growth and subsequent etching of the longitudinally cut crystals, the interface shapes were revealed. Growth rates were similarly determined by periodically quenching at two different locations of the growing crystals. The deviation of growth rates from the lowering rates were determined and was found to agree well with the theoretically calculated values.
