Abstract

This paper proposes a control strategy based on droop control for the parallel operation of doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) and inverters in a microgrid. The DFIG can overcome the poor transient performance associated with the conventional droop control on synchronous generators. The steady state operation as well as the performance during transient loading condition is evaluated with proposed control strategy. The proposed control strategy is validated through time domain simulation in PSCAD/EMTDC. © 2020 IEEE.
