Abstract
An iron glycinate of the composition $[Fe^{III} Fe^{II}_ 2F_8(CO_2CH_2NH_3)_2]^-(H_3O)^+$ containing Fe in both +2 and +3 oxidation states has been obtained hydrothermally. The compound has a perfect kagome structure, with a typical hexagonal tungsten bronze-type sheet. The compound shows divergence between the zero-field-cooled and the field-cooled samples in the magnetization data and exhibits ferromagnetism at low temperatures. These magnetic properties are entirely different from those of ordinary Fe(III) kagome structures.
