Abstract

This paper describes a method of automatically expanding a contracted text input using the keyboard of a PC. It saves keystrokes in inputting and would be useful in many applications such as reporting in courts, assemblies etc. It will also be useful for persons with physical handicaps such as difficulty in efficiently using fingers. The method of contraction is intuitive and does not, require memorizing complex rules. The accuracy of expansion is 99% with 35% reduction in keystrokes.
