Abstract

We show that the large anomalous Hall constants of mixed valent and Kondo lattice systems can be understood in terms of a simple resonant level Fermi liquid model. The splitting of an orbitally unquenched narrow of quasiparticle resonance leads to strong skew symmetric scattering of band electrons. The frequently anomalous sign, the large size and the strong temperature dependence of the Hall constant observed in systems such as $\[CePd_3\]$, $\[CeCu_2Si_2\]$ and $\[SmB_6\]$ are interpreted in terms of this theory
