Abstract

Synthesis of novel oligopeptides I and II related to the antileukemic agent NSC 101327 is described. These compds. are designed to understand the role of curvature of the ligands in sp. interactions of the drugs, distamycin and netropsin with nucleic acids. In contrast to a dicarboxylic acid starting material for the parent compds., the synthesis of new analogs employ m- or p-phenylenediamine. The new analogs contain nicotinyl end groups.
