Abstract

The `modified' Radon transform is used as a tool to convert the 2-D LPC problem to a set of independent 1-D problems of coding the modified projections. By use of the autocorrelation method for estimating the 1-D linear prediction parameters, stability can be guaranteed. The image is reconstructed at the receiver by a stochastic filter and backprojection. An ADPCM implementation of the technique is given. The proposed stochastic filtering approach can be used to combat the effects of errors due to quantization, by suitable modification of the ADPCM scheme.
