Abstract

This paper describes a lightning test facility designed and built in India for simulating the direct and indirect effects of lightning, e.g., attachment, streamering, induced voltages, structural damage etc. The design details as well as the waveforms generated by each of these generators are presented. Different combinations of sequential operations of the current generators required for direct effect testing were simulated experimentally and compared with the computed results
